Cursed? Bombshells!
February 10, 2007

Not to long ago we experienced
the passing of Anna Nicole Smith. This is tragic indeed in
human terms, yet we know full well that the tabloids and paparazzi will
soon find some other target to exploit.
Her life could likely
be described as meteoric although there were obvious ebbs and flows in
her time on the planet. Is someone else going to come to center
stage and inhabit the niche that she vacated? We will have to wait
and see!
Her death at a relatively
young age (39) set me to wondering about the possibility that there may
be a curse that exists for these iconic women whose blonde tresses contribute
to their notoriety.
The picture posted is
one of Jean Harlow who also died rather young at the age of 26 and over
the years since her passing two other blonde bombshells come to mind for
dying young.
Marilyn Monroe was 36
years old at her passing, and Jayne Mansfield died at the age of 34 and
they too were fodder for the bottom feeders to pinion in the press and
on celluloid.
We have then four women
whose lives somewhat mirror each other in death but their lives also entwine
in the manner in which they lived. Each one lived in an extravagant
manner and their morals by some standards would seem at best to be questionable.
Drugs, booze, and sex
all seem to be listed among the excesses and self-indulgent behaviors.
Not one of them was successful in maintaining a relationship as each had
numerous husbands, boyfriends or paramours and their pin-up photos have
graced many a young or old male's locker or wall.
In one manner or another
each was featured in Playboy magazine and something else seems to be common
to the four, the absence of a father figure in their lives as a result
of a death or a divorce.
Are there inferences that
we can draw from their experiences? Is there a lesson to be learned
somewhere in their intertwined histories. Is there anything in their
commonalities that can signal us?
Well for whatever reasons
there might be, I for one sincerely hope that hair color is certainly not
one of the key causes!
